Crowns
“Crown” is the dental term for what most patients think of as a cap for the tooth, used to improve the strength and appearance of a tooth.
A crown is a type of treatment which completely caps or encircles a damaged tooth. Crowns are often needed in the instance of a cracked filling, extensive cavity / decay, or broken tooth. Also, if a tooth has had root canal treatment, a crown is usually indicated. They are typically bonded to the tooth using dental cement and can be made from many materials.
We at MST Dental normally construct our anterior (front teeth) crowns out of full porcelain for the best aesthetic results. This eliminates the dark gum affect that may result from alternative crown materials.
Crowns are the best restoration treatment for long terms health, strength, and appearance of your teeth.
